Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) for International Students
Japan and the World Bank jointly offer postgraduate scholarships for students from developing countries, as part of the ‘Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship’ (JJWBGSP). The scholarship provides opportunities to pursue advanced studies at various global universities for international students under the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP)
The eligible countries for the JJWBGSP Scholarship in 2024 include
Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tonga, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, RB Vietnam, West Bank and Gaza, Yemen, Rep. Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Applicants have two opportunities to apply for the scholarship annually during two application windows.
Application Window#1:
- From January 15 to February 29, 2024, at 12:00 noon EST.
- JJ/WBGSP Participating Programs will accept applications under Window #1.
- Names of selected applicants will be announced by the end of March 2024.
Application Window #2:
- From March 25 to May 24, 2024, at 12:00 noon EST.
- JJ/WBGSP Participating Programs will accept applications under Window #2.
- Names of selected applicants will be announced towards the end of June 2024.
- Under the JJWBGSP, students have the opportunity to study at 19 renowned universities worldwide, including Oxford University, London School of Economics, Harvard University, University of Tokyo, University of Leeds, University of Sussex, and Stanford University.

Scholarship Facilities include
- Full tuition fees coverage.
- Air travel expenses.
- Medical insurance.
- Monthly stipend to cover accommodation, food, and books.
Qualifications for Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship
- Must be a citizen of a developing country member of the World Bank.
- Dual citizenship with developed countries is not allowed.
- Must be in good health.
- Must have completed graduation at least three years before the application date.
- Involvement in development-related work is preferable.
