Green University Hosts the IEEE STI 5.0 Conference 2025

Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) is set to host the 7th International IEEE Conference on “Sustainable Technologies for Industry (STI) 5.0)” to promote global research collaboration and the development of sustainable industrial technologies. The conference will be held on 11–12 December 2025 at GUB’s permanent campus in Purbachal American City.
The announcement was made at a press briefing held today (Monday) at the Sagar-Runi Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity. University officials shared that this year’s conference will include keynote speeches, research presentations, panel discussions, and workshops covering major topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Resilient Industrial Systems, IoT and Automation, Green Technology, Circular Economy, and Post-Pandemic Industrial Transformation.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of GUB, said that in today’s AI-driven era, sustainable development is not possible without innovative industrial technologies and research-based solutions. He emphasized the need for close collaboration among academics, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers. He also noted that technology must move forward with human-centered innovation and practical applications, which GUB strongly encourages.
The Publication Chair, Prof. Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib (CSE Department), stated that the STI conference has been playing a key role in enhancing research and practical use of sustainable industrial technologies.
Prof. Dr. A.S.M. Shihab Uddin (EEE Department) informed that a total of 434 research papers were submitted from both local and international researchers, and 118 papers have been selected for presentation. The best papers will receive special awards and be published in IEEE Xplore and Scopus-indexed journals.
The conference will be inaugurated at 9 AM on 11 December by Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division.
On 12 December, the closing ceremony will feature Prof. Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), as Chief Guest. Renowned international speakers, industry experts, and researchers will lead various sessions during the two-day event.
Also present at the press briefing was Dr. Md. Oliur Rahman, faculty member of the Department of Journalism & Media Communication at GUB.
