Green University Successfully Concludes IEEE STI 5.0 International Conference 2025

The two-day 7th IEEE International Conference on Sustainable Technologies for Industry (STI) 5.0 has been successfully concluded at the permanent campus of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB), located in Purbachal American City. The international conference, which began on Thursday, ended on Friday at 5:45 PM with a formal closing ceremony held at the university’s multipurpose auditorium.
The closing ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Vice Chancellor of GUB and patron of the conference. Distinguished guests included Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Razzaque, Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section and Chairperson of the Dept of CSE at DU; Professor Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor of GUB and co-patron of the conference; and Professor Dr. K. M. Azharul Hasan, Chair of IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter. The event was conducted by Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Azad, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Organizing Secretary of the conference.
This year’s conference focused on the theme: “Technological Revolution and the Risk of Job Displacement in the Age of AI.”
In his remarks, Chief Guest Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman stated, “The STI 5.0 conference has shown us that technology and environmental sustainability can advance together. The research presented here will play a crucial role in shaping future industrial sustainability.”
In the concluding speech, GUB Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin said, “We believe this international platform will significantly contribute to new research, innovation, and global collaboration in addressing the challenges of Industry 5.0. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants.”
With the participation of renowned academics, researchers, industry leaders, and experts from home and abroad, the two-day international conference hosted by Green University of Bangladesh concluded successfully with impactful discussions and knowledge exchange.
