Integrated Admission Test for Govt Universities this year
Since this year (2019), the integrated competition has started in all autonomous and public universities in the admission test process. Already all agricultural universities of Bangladesh have agreed in principle about taking admission tests in the bunch method. Bangladesh University Council has finalized the proposal to cluster the rest of the universities in the same tribunal. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni recently told to reduce the sufferings of the students during admission test. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni urged to take a composite admission test at public university like medical colleges.
In this context, Abdullah Al Hasan Chowdhury, additional secretary of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education of the Education Ministry, told the said news: “We have all the meetings with the VCs of all the agricultural universities and the meeting has been held. There has been considerable progress. We are hopeful. We are going to the new system of admission. “On Thursday morning, in a meeting at the University Grants Commission (UGC), some of the Vice Chancellors joined the meeting including Bangladesh Agriculture University and Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University and other university VCs. UGC member professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain and Additional Secretary Abdullah Al Hasan Chowdhury and others were present. The meeting discussed the details of taking the test. In particular, the application for examination, technical aspects related to this, administrative activities are also discussed. All the VCs agreed on the same admission process in the meeting.
Mr Harun-ur-Rashid told, ‘There are a lot of universities in Bangladesh like general, agricultural, science and technology, engineering and technology. Sub-committee members discussed how to get admission tests in the whole group. We decided to make policies and necessary actions. After getting the council, it will be sent to the government.
Students go to different parts of the university to get admission in financial, physical and psychological sufferings. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said, “I know some big universities are opposing the integrated admission test for various reasons. Comprehensive admission test is very important. This will reduce harassment and waste of money. I hear boys sleeping in the mosque on the night. Where will the girls go? “The minister said,” If we can coordinate the medical admission test, why not be able to coordinate another admission test? I hope universities will cooperate. The World Bank’s Higher Education Up-gradation Project (HECP), conducted a few years ago on different admission tests. Many poor students are not able to spend this money. The concerned people say that the combination of admission test in 2008 was not possible in opposition to some universities. Last year, on February 1, the President and the Chancellor of Universities instructed the VCs in this regard. It was not launched last year due to the shortage of time.
Professor Dr. Harun-ur-Rashid said that there are more than 44 universities now. They again have various features. We have divided the universities into separate groups. If you could, you could have recommended the arrangement of the bunch method admission test last year. But the work is not rush. A little disadvantage may lead to big disasters. Tactics are being created over time.
The results of the HSC exams will be published on July 21. Within a week, admission tests were started in the universities. He has only 3 months of admission season.
