Students of SEU visited Biomedical Engineering Laboratory of Sonar Bangla Foundation
The final year students of the programs of B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE) of the Departments of EEE and ETE of Southeast University took part in a day-long study tour to the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory of SonarBangla Foundation-Bangladesh (SBF) at Shyamoli, Dhaka on 5 April 2017 (Wednesday) from 10:00 am.
The study tour helped the students to have a practical knowledge onthe re-build, calibration and testing processes of various biomedical engineering machines and testing equipment. Four (4) students and two (02) Faculty Members participated in the tour. The tour was led by Dr. Engr. Muhibul Haque Bhuyan, Chairman of EEE and ETE Departments. Mr. Murad Kabir Nipun, Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of EEE Department also participated. They guided the students during the study tour.
Students and Faculty Members were welcome by the Director of the Foundation after their arrival. Two Alumni of EEE Department, SEU, Engr. Imran and Engr. Atik of SBF were also present during the tour. Engr. Baki of SBF briefed the students about the water purification method through reverse osmosis process. Then he explained about starting, calibration and testing as well as working principles of dialysis machine and its controlling and maintenance procedures.
The engineers opened the machines to show and explain the working methods of various electronic and hydraulic parts of the machine as well as its various controller circuits. By this study tour, theoretical knowledge of the students on biomedical electronics is augmented through practical demonstration.
