The preliminary examination of the 40th BCS examination may be held in the first week of May 2019. The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Bangladesh has started preparing for this examination. The letter has been sent to different educational institutions from the PSC exam controller (cadre) AIG Nesar Uddin for the preparation of the exam. PSC sources said that the test can be held simultaneously across the country on 3 May.
The letter sent to the educational institute said that preliminary examination of the 40th BCS preliminary examination may be held from 10am to 12noon in the next possible May 3 (Friday). The said examination will be also held at all the test centers in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions. The test will be conducted in multiple selection Questions (MCQ). The test of the number 200 will last for two hours.
On September 11, the PSC published the 40th BCS notification. The application is started from September 30. The record number of candidates is submitted in the prescribed time. About 4 million candidates apply for this. PSC chairman Mohammad Sadiq said, “We sent a letter to the educational institutions to organize the 40th BCS Preliminary Examination. There was a possible time mentioned on May 3.
If the seats are available for demand only, the 40th BCS examination will be held on May 3. The PSC chairman said that the final decision will be taken only if the seats are available. He further said that the final results of the 38th BCS exam will be published in April. At present, the work of evaluation of the examination paper is going on in the second phase. The results will be published within the time specified.
One thousand 903 cadres will be appointed through this examination. But this number may increase further. According to the cadre, 200 people in administration, 72 in police, 25 in the country, 24, 32 in customs duty and 800 in education cadre have to be appointed.
