The Government has 7 public nursing colleges in Bangladesh. The nursing colleges of Bangladesh have been offering one B.Sc. in Nursing with the duration of 4 years and one Diploma course as Diploma in Midwifery with the duration of 3 years. The entry requirements for the programs are SSC and HSC passed or equivalent (grade point 6 altogether in SSC & HSC, but not less than 2.50 in any of two public Examination)

Rangpur Nursing College

Rangpur Nursing College has been updated from Nursing Institute to Nursing College in 2009 after a long excursion. Rangpur Nursing College is one of the public authority nursing schools in the northern locale and Rangpur division.

At present there are two courses running in this instructive establishment, the first is B.Sc. In the Nursing (Basic) course, which is a long-term course subsidiary of Rajshahi Medical University, 10% of the seats are saved for men out of 100 seats. It is at present a four-year course partnered with Rajshahi Medical University, with 10% of the 100 seats allotted for men. The second is recognition in maternity care courses.

Barisal Nursing College

Barisal Nursing College is located in Sher-E-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Barisal Nursing Institute was established in 1970 in the adjoining hospital of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College. Since its inception, the Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery has been running.

In the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, with the contribution of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shaikh Hasina, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh, through a circular in 2010, upgraded the former Barshial Nursing Institute to Barisal Nursing College.
