North South University (NSU) is the first private university in Bangladesh, was established by a group of philanthropists, industrialists, bureaucrats and academics. The government of Bangladesh approved to establishment of North South University in 1992 under Private University Act-1992. The university was formally inaugurated on 10 February, 1993. The honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh is the Chancellor of North South University.

The NSU Library
The North South University library has consists of 60,500 books, 65,000 online books, 6,000 bound journals (Foreign and local) and magazines, 2500 CD-ROM databases and books, 226 DVD and videos, 159 audio-cassettes, and other resources. The NSU library is the fully automated university library in Bangladesh. It is also supports RFID system, web-based online circulation system, full-text e-books and online journal article repository services. The NSU library accommodate over 1,200 students in its reading rooms. On average 2,300 students use the library every day.

North South University Permanent Campus
North South University campus is located at Bashundhara city of Dhaka. It is one of the the largest private university in Bangladesh. The foundation of the campus was laid on 30 January 2003 and lasses started in the permanent campus from 9 June 2009. NSU campus can serve up to 15000 students with present amenities and facilities. NSU Campus contains six buildings with three basements on six acres of land having 665,000 square feet of floor space.
