Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Dhaka Cantonment

The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is a military medical college in Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is run by the Military of Bangladesh and is under the Ministry of Defense of Bangladesh. It has two types of students: Medical Cadets (AFMC cadets) and Army Medical Corps Cadets (AMC cadets).

AFMC cadets can become civilian doctors after completing the MBBS course, but AMC cadets should join the Army Medical Corps (AMC) of the Bangladesh Army. The Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) is affiliated with the Bangladesh University of Professionals and recognized by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC).

AFMC Admission Requirements

The minimum educational performances are as follows:

  • AMC Cadets: The students must have a total minimum GPA of 10.00 (GPA 5.00 each SSC & HSC or its equivalent examinations)
  • AFMC Cadets: The students must have a total minimum GPA of 9.00 of SSC & HSC or its equivalent examinations.
  • For tribal, candidates must have a total GPA of 8.00 & a minimum GPA of 3.50 in either SSC & HSC or its equivalent examinations.
  • For all, Candidates must have a minimum of 3.50 Grade points in Biology in HSC or its equivalent examinations.
