Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College (ShSMC) is a government funded medical college in Bangladesh. Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College (ShSMC) is the 14th government medical college of Bangladesh which is established in 2006. Originally, the medical college was known as Begum Khaleda Zia Medical College and had 100 students. However, on 1 June 2009, the name of the medical college was changed to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College. Now it has more than 900 students in its 6 batches. It is situated in Sher- E- Bangla Nagar, Dhaka 1207. Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College is affiliated with the University of Dhaka. This college is directly governed by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council BMDC – an affiliate of Ministry of Health.
Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
Admission Requirements
HSC or equivalent with Science.(Biology, Physics, Chemistry)
Candidate has to secure required grade point in the SSC and HSC examinations.
MBBS course comprises of 5 Years, followed by logbook based rotatory internship for one year.
