Best Universities in Asia 2023 – Times Higher Education World University Ranking

The UK-based Times Higher Education has published the list of “Best Universities in Asia 2023 – Times Higher Education”. In the Best Universities in Asia 2023′ published on Thursday 22 June 2023, there is no educational institution in Bangladesh in the list of the top 100 universities. However, among the best 200 universities in Asia, 2 universities in Bangladesh have been placed. One is a public university (Dhaka University), another is a private university (North South University).

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assess universities based on five key areas: teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and Industry Income. The rankings are based on a scale of 1-9, with nine being the highest. The teaching category is based on a reputation survey, staff-to-student ratio, doctorate-to-bachelors ratio, doctorates-awarded-to-academic-staff ratio, and institutional income.

China’s Tsinghua University and Peking University are at the top of the ranking as the best universities in Asia. Asia’s top ten universities include four from China, three from Hong Kong, two from Singapore, and one from Japan. This year, the list of best universities in Asia has been taken into account in 13 subject performance indicators. Teaching, basic research, method of knowledge distribution, and international perspective of the universities have been considered in this list.

In the Best 100 Universities list, China has 29 Universities, South Korea has 12, Japan has 06, Singapore has 04, India has 05, Iran has 10, Hong Kong has 05, Saudi Arabia has 07, Pakistan has 01, Israel Has 02, United Arab Emirates (UAE) has 04, Turkey has 03, Malaysia has 03 Universities-Ranked by Times Higher Education (THE).
