Department of Sociology Organizes Vibrant Fruits Festival at Green University

 

 

 

Dhaka, July 2, 2025. The Department of Sociology at Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) organized a lively Fruits Festival on July 2, 2025. The event featured 35 different types of fruits, highlighting their nutritional value, cultural significance, and environmental importance.

The festival welcomed Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman, Dean of Green Business School Mr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz, along with other respected chairpersons and administrative officials from the university.

The honored guests toured the fruit exhibition area. They eagerly explored the wide range of fruits on display. Their presence inspired the students and participants, adding to the event’s energy.

In his speech, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shorif Uddin stressed the importance of eating fruits regularly. He encouraged students to embrace a healthy lifestyle. He also praised the department for hosting such a meaningful event.

Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed shared his personal experiences with fruits, expressing gratitude to the department for putting together a refreshing program. Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Fayzur Rahman pointed out the health benefits of eating fruits, especially in summer, and commended the variety showcased at the festival.

Dean of Green Business School Prof. Dr. Mohammed Tareque Aziz praised the festival’s creativity, noting its originality and successful execution.

Dr. Abul Hossain, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, wrapped up the program by saying that the Fruits Festival is a celebration of inclusivity and a shared appreciation for nature.

The event concluded on a high note as all guests enjoyed tasting different fruits in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, reinforcing a sense of unity and sustainability.
