Griffith University Scholarship for Bangladeshi Students

Griffith University is a public research university in South East Queensland on the east coast of Australia.  Griffith University formally established in 1971 but Griffith opened its doors in 1975. On 25 March 2019, Australia’s Griffith University has expressed interest in providing scholarships to Bangladeshi students in PhD programs. A Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) and Griffith University soon. Under this memorandum, 25 scholarships will be provided in the IT and Business Education section in the next five years.

A three-member delegation led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Grant of Griffith University expressed their interest on Monday (March 25th) when visited to UGC member Professor Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Ali Molla. Professor Yusuf Ali Mollah said that UGC will select the student for this scholarship through open competition from public and private universities of the country.

He said that under this compromise, exchange of joint research and teacher can be done in Australia’s well-known higher education institute. He believes scholarship, education and research facilities in the PhD program will play a role in improving our country’s higher education and research. The other members of the Australian delegation are: Professor Peter Woods and Business Development Manager of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission Mostafizur Rahman. UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled and private university department director Md. Fakhrul Islam was present.
