The online application process for admission into first year honours programmes in Dhaka University (DU) under 2018-2019 academic session will begin on July 31, 2018.   The admission process was officially inaugurated at the central admission office of Dhaka University in the afternoon on 31 August 2018. The deadline for the online application for the admission of Dhaka University till 12 noon on August 26. Admission test fee will be deposited through Sonali, Agrani, Janata and Rupali Bank up to 28th August, 2018.

This year, a total of 7,128 seats are available — 1,750 under ‘Ka’ (Science) unit, 2,378 under ‘Kha’ (Arts) unit, 1,250 under ‘Ga’ (Business) unit, 1,615 under ‘Gha’ (combined) unit and 135 under the Fine Arts faculty. The admission test for Kha (B) unit will be held on 21 September while that of ‘Ga’ (C) unit on 14 September, ‘Ka’ (A) unit on 28 September and ‘Gha’ (D) unit on 12 October. The general knowledge part of the admission test for ‘Cha’ unit (Faculty of Fine Arts) will be held on 15 September and the drawing part on 22 September.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Akhtaruzzaman said that the machines like: calculator, mobile or telecommunications can be completely banned in the examination. Intelligence surveillance will be strengthened to prevent fraud. The mobile court will perform the duties during the trial. DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman chaired the central admission test committee meeting, while Pro-vice Chancellor (education) Prof Dr Nasreen Ahmad,  Pro-vice Chancellor ( Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin, Convener of Online Admission Committee Prof Dr Md Hasibur Rashid, deans of different faculties, chairmen of different departments, directors of various institutes, registrar and the university proctor were present at the meeting. Detailed information including admission test can be found on the university website http://admission.eis.du.ac.bd/
