Shandong University Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must hold citizenship in countries other than China.
  • Sound mental and physical health is required.
  • High school completion or equivalent is mandatory for graduate program applicants.
  • Bachelor’s degree completion is requisite for master’s program applications.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree attainment is obligatory for doctoral program candidates.
  • Age criteria: Below 25 for graduate, below 35 for postgraduate, and below 40 for doctoral programs.
  • Recipients are ineligible for other Chinese government-funded scholarships concurrently.

Shandong University Scholarship English Proficiency Requirements

  • Native English speakers are exempt from English language certificates.
  • Non-native speakers must present:
    IELTS score of 6 or higher,
    TOEFL score of 80 or higher,
    DI Code of SDU: C296,
    MyBest score of 80 or more,
    Submission of 8 points in the required compulsory test or equivalent proof of English proficiency.
    Applicants with English-medium education at their highest degree institution need not submit IELTS or TOEFL scores. Instead, they must furnish a letter, authenticated by the institution, confirming English-medium instruction.

  • Two types of scholarships are offered: full and partial.
  • Full scholarships cover tuition fees, subsistence allowance, residence, and medical insurance.
  • Partial scholarships include tuition fees and medical insurance.
