Chittagong University Admission Test Circular and Exam Dates 2020-2021
The University of Chittagong (CU) is a public and multidisciplinary university in Bangladesh. Chittagong University is located in Hathazari Upazila, Chittagong District, Bangladesh. The university was established in 1966. CU has approximately 22,000 students and 750 faculty members.
The application process for the first year admission test of Chittagong University is starting on April 5 at 11 am. .The application process will continue till 12 midnight on April 30. Apart from this, the application fee can be submitted by midnight on May 2, 2021. The decision was taken at a meeting of the university’s dean’s committee on Wednesday. The meeting was held in the conference room of the Vice Chancellor’s office. It was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Shireen Akhter.

Eligibility for Application for the CU Admission Test 2020-2021
- There are four faculties under ‘A’ unit. These are the faculties of Science, Biology, Engineering and Marine Sciences & Fisheries. The total number of general seats in the four faculties is 1,214. Minimum eligibility for application to secondary and higher secondary (including fourth subject) Total GPA 8.00
- Students of all groups who have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate Exam are eligible to apply in the ‘B’ unit of the Faculty of Arts and Anthropology. The minimum qualification for the to the humanities department is SSC and HSC with a total GPA of 7.50 including the fourth subject. Science students will need a minimum GPA of 8.00. Apart from this, GPA 8.00 is also required for business education students.
- This unit has a total of 13 sections. Unit B (excluding Drama, Fine Arts and Music) has a total of 1,221 general seats. Students interested in appearing for the admission test in the Department of Music, Fine Arts and Drama must apply separately to the B-1 unit. There are 125 general seats in this sub-unit.
- On the other hand, there are 442 general seats in the ‘C’ unit of the Faculty of Business Administration. The minimum qualification to apply in this unit is SSC and HSC (including fourth subject) Total GPA 8.00. There are six sections.
- Students of all groups will be able to take the test in ‘D’ unit. There are nine departments of the Faculty of Sociology, the Department of Law under the Faculty of Law, all the departments of the Faculty of Business Administration. There is also the Department of Geography and Ecology and Psychology of the Faculty of Biology.
SSC and HSC (including fourth subject) must have a total GPA of 7.50 to be eligible to apply for ‘D’ unit.
In addition, students interested in the D-1 sub-unit of the Faculty of Education must apply separately. The eligibility of the application is the same. - Dean of the Faculty of Science. Nasim Hasan told Prothom Alo that when the examination of which unit will be held, it will be decided at the end of the application process. The decision will depend on how many students are applying in which unit.
