Candidates will have to enter the center of the examinations at 9:30 am on the day of admission test for MBBS first year on October 5. In the center, officers and employees who do not have access to mobile phones or electronic devices and watches will be able to enter the examination and duties. The students will have to enter the specific type of pen mentioned with the entry form.

The decision was taken at a meeting with the law enforcement agencies and the examining oversight committee to complete the upcoming MBBS admission test at the Secretariat on Monday. Health minister Mohammad Nasim chaired the meeting.

In the meeting, the Health Minister said that all the preparations for the completion of the upcoming MBBS admission test through the most stringent and flawless security have already been taken. So there will be no scope for any debate on the test. He said, the government will not compromise to ensure that the real merit list gets admired in the medical colleges of the country to deliver quality health care to the people.

Health Minister called upon the students, guardians, civil society and media to be aware of false question papers, leakage or rumors. He urged all the aware citizens and law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies to strengthen intense monitoring of untrue information related posts and fake online portals, especially in social media. If anybody receives any information in this regard, the minister urges the minister to immediately inform the law enforcement agencies.

Six students of the government and private medical colleges will take part in the MBBS admission test for every year in the 2018-19 academic year. However, the number of seats in government medical colleges is 16. This year, the number of seats in the government medical colleges is 4 thousand 68 and in total the total seats 10 thousand 300. In contrast, the application for admission test has been submitted to 65 thousand 919.

Professor Dr. Abdur Rashid said five new government medical colleges have been established to allow more meritorious students to get admission in government medical colleges at a relatively low cost. Apart from this, 500 seats have been extended to old medical colleges.

According to the sources, increasing the seats of eight government medical colleges in Dhaka, Salimullah, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Barisal, there will now be a chance for the admission of 220 students. Besides, this year, 175 seats in Shaheed Suhrawardy, 160 in Khulna, Bogra, Comilla, Faridpur and Dinajpur Medical College and 70 people in Pabna, Cox’s Bazar, Noakhali and Jessore, Satkhira, Kishoreganj, Kushtia, Gopalganj, Gazipur, Tangail, Jamalpur, Manikganj, Sirajganj and Mugda Medical College will get 65 seats. However, the number of seats in Habiganj, Rangamati and Patuakhali did not increase. In these three medical colleges, 51 students will be admitted as before.
