RU Admission Test Notice 2020-2021:- The University of Rajshahi (RU) is a public university that is the second-largest university in Bangladesh. RU was established in 1953.
Rajshahi University Admission Test 2020-2021 | Date and Time
The admission test of the University of Rajshahi will be held on the following dates:
- ‘C’ unit = 14 June
- ‘A’ unit = 15 June
- ‘B’ unit = June 18

RU Admission Test 2020-2021 | Important Points
- Preliminary application for the first year (honors) admission test of Rajshahi University for the academic year 2020-21 starts from 07 March. Students can apply till March 18. Selected students will have to make a final application from March 23 to 31.
- A total of 1,35,000 students will be able to take part in the final examination with 45 thousand selected in three units. However, the date of admission test has not been fixed yet.
- This time the test will be held in the multiple choice question (MCQ) system of 100 marks. Number 1 will be deducted for five wrong answers.
- The applicants who have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent examinations in 2020 are eligible for the test.

RU Admission Test: Date and time of application
Students will have to apply online for admission from 12 noon on March 7 to 12 noon on March 18. After the selection of the initial application, the final application has to be made from 12 noon on March 23 to 12 noon on March 31.
RU Admission Test 2020-2021 | Unit wise total seats
- This year RU admission test will be held under the three units. The total seats is 4,191.
- There are 2,019 seats in ‘A’ (Faculty of Arts, Law, Social Sciences and Fine Arts and Institute of Education and Research),
- 560 seats in ‘B’ (Faculty of Business Education and Institute of Business Administration) and
- there are 1 thousand 612 seats in ‘C’ (Faculty of Agriculture and Science).
- Each unit will be divided into three separate shifts. Admission test of three units will be held in three days over three weeks.

How many students will be able to take part in the admission test?
A total of 1 lakh 35 thousand students will be able to take part in the final examination in three units of 45,000 selected in each unit in the academic year 2020-21 at Rajshahi University.
Total seats (4,191 seats in 3 units): This year admission test will be held in three units in 4,191 seats. There are 2,019 seats in ‘A’ (Faculty of Arts, Law, Social Sciences and Fine Arts and Institute of Education and Research), 560 in ‘B’ (Faculty of Business Education and Institute of Business Administration) and 560 in ‘C’ (Faculty of Agriculture and Science). There are 1 thousand 612 seats. Each unit will be divided into three separate shifts. Admission test of three units will be held in three days over three weeks.

Minimum GPA Requirements of RU Admission Test 2020-2021
- Science Group: Students from Science group must have minimum GPA 3:50 in SSC and HSC separately and total GPA 8:00 with 4th subject.
- Humanities Group: Students from Humanities group must have minimum GPA 3:00 in SSC and HSC separately and total GPA 7:00 with 4th subject.
- Business Studies Group: Students from Business Studies must have minimum GPA 3:50 in SSC and HSC separately and total GPA 7.50 with 4th subject.
- In addition, 12,000 students will get the opportunity to sit the exam.
RU Admission test will be in MCQ
Mr. Azizur Rahman, the administrator of the public relations department, told that the preliminary application will be valid till March 7-18 of this year (2021). Selected students will have to make a final application from March 23 to 31. This time the test will be held in 100 number multiple choice question (MCQ) system. Number 1 will be deducted for five wrong answers. Minimum pass number 40 in the exam. This time only students who have passed higher secondary in 2020 will be able to apply. In Rajshahi University 2020-21 academic year, the first year of graduation (honors) admission test will be held in MCQ question system only. This time there will be no written test. Apart from this, students will not get the opportunity to take the admission test for the second time.
Opportunity to change categories
In the 2020-21 session, there is an opportunity to change the department in the admission test of the 1st year graduation of Rajshahi University. Students who have passed the HSC / Equivalent Examination in 2020 from the Department of Humanities, Commerce and Science can apply in all the 3 units of Humanities (Unit-A) / Commerce (Unit-B) / Science (Unit-C) according to their qualifications. No matter which unit the applicant applies to, the qualifications prescribed for the branch from which he has passed the HSC examination will be applicable to him.

Earlier, the admission test subcommittee decided to take the test in only three units. That decision was upheld at this meeting. There will be an examination of the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and the Institute of Education and Research under ‘A’ unit. This unit will have the benefit of division change. In the ‘B’ unit, the Faculty of Business Education, the Institute of Business Administration and the ‘C’ Unit will be conducting science, biology and geoscience, agricultural faculty examinations. On the other hand, a student can take the exam in only one unit. The initial application fee is Tk. 55. Later, the applicants can apply for 1200 taka.
Rajshahi University Admission Test Examination method:
The written and MCQ test will be conducted in both ways. 60 Mark MCQ and 40 marks written. Marks 20 will be given for 20 short questions. 50 minutes will be given for 60 MCQ Questions. Time for written question is 40 minutes. The test will be conducted in two shifts every day from 9am to 10.45pm and from 12pm to 1.45pm.
